We've had this printer for over a year and I generally think the Canon imageCLASS MF6540 is a decent all-in-one small office workhorse. It prints,...
The 6500 does most of what my $10,000 machine does, only slightly slower. Toner setting, which can be changed, is a bit rich, but this boosts print...
Simply works. Works well through a network from a wifi system. Cost per copy is higher than a large commercial copier, but that is to be expected...

I bought the Canon imageCLASS MF3240 About a month ago and so far it has exceeded my expectation. I recommend it to anyone who is on the market for a multifunction device without having to print in color. If you prefer to make your digital photos printed by a line or in-store photo processor, a multifunction laser is generally the way forward - as it is a low cost per page, it is faster and the output is of better quality an inkjet.
Appearance / Construction: You can say it is a sub-$ 200 per machine construction.Do not expect the same kind of solid feel you get from a much more expensive piece of equipment. Some plastic parts feel a bit fragile, as the paper tray. But they all seem to work correctly, and I have no concerns about sustainability. Unless you're really hard on your office equipment, you should be allowed.
The MF3240 is not the sexiest looking multifunction out there (if you're looking for a great device, try the Canon Pixma MP830, which uses inkjet technology so you can print in color too ).In fact, my wife keeps saying the MF3240 looks like a cooler sitting on the desk. But the buttons are logically arranged on the keyboard, and the instruction that I have done in many different MFD, the imprint on it seems to be a reasonable size.
